CALL US:
1-866-725-8609Nitinol, also known as niti wire, is a nickel titanium alloy with mechanical properties that include excellent corrosion resistance, fatigue performance, and enormous elasticity. Nitinol is a shape memory alloy with unique fatigue properties. This shape memory effect allows it to return back to its original form even after deformation when it is exposed to a specific transformation temperature. Because of these characteristics, our superelastic nitinol round wire is a suitable alloy product for many medical applications including braid products, orthodontic wire, and implantable devices such as surgical implants.
Ulbrich Stainless Steel & Special Metal round wires are rolled with the tightest tolerances and absolute precision. Our skilled metallurgists and rolling mill team can deliver finely-tailored round wire products in a wide array of alloys and finishes. Our dimensional tolerances are similar to those on stainless steels. We focus especially on ultrafine sizes, with diameters of .003” and below, however we can roll wire at diameters as large as .015”. Our nitinol wire can be cold rolled using our wire rolling equipment as thin as .00075” diameter.
As part of our Development Partnership and to better serve our customers' increasing requirements, we have developed the Braid Wire Accelerator® Program, with product shipping within 24 hours of order acknowledgement. The ability to obtain a variety of round and flat wire quickly allows deadlines to be met while incorporating all the design performance characteristics required of your project.
We offer precision winding of a variety of round, flat and shaped nitinol wire products. Our "focus factory" (factory within a factory) dedicates managers and engineers along with state of the art equipment to produce and manage industry specific requirements. Ulbrich's technical support staff also assists with any customer to provide the needed application specific guidance.
The expansion of our in-house drawing and plating capabilities has led to industry expertise in bare and plated mandrels and stylets for medical applications. Focusing on SPC and Bare Precision Copper Mandrel Materials, Ulbrich's metallurgical prowess allows us to offer multiple custom tempers and finishes in quantities ranging from small R&D lots up to full production runs.
