Surface Control Capabilities
Understanding the work hardening rate of a given alloy or heat lot within an alloy is paramount to achieving the mechanical properties specified by the customer. At Ulbrich, we understand that proper strip temperature control will result in more uniform mechanical properties and grain structure throughout the entire length of a coil. If grains are grown too large, the bulk material may exhibit erratic mechanical properties or an undesirable surface finish. We are able to achieve our desired bright anneal because the entry and exit of the furnace are sealed and the interior is filled with a shielding gas, which aids surface control. The protective atmosphere inside the furnace prevents the formation of excess oxide and allows the strip to retain its rolled finish. Our team of experienced metallurgists will work with you to achieve your final ordered properties.
Strip + Foil
Re-roller and distributor of over 100 alloys of precision strip and foil including stainless steel, titanium, nickel alloy and cobalt alloy.
Fine & Flat Wire
Custom engineered precision wire products including; Fine Wire, Round Wire, Flat Wire, and Shaped Profiles.
Shaped Wire
Shaped Wire is produced to exacting cross-sectional dimensions in our dedicated shaped wire facility. Shaped profile wire minimizes or eliminates costly machining by being net, or near net, in shape.

We engineer our products to each customers requirements and specifications. Our team customized solutions to enhance your product and processes. Our tempers range from drawing quality, coining tempers to extra full hard.
Camber
Camber tolerances are available closer than the published commercial range noted below upon request
For strip less than or equal to 1.5″ wide: .5 inches in 8 feet (less than or equal to 38mm: 13mm in 2.5m)
For strip from 1.5″ – < 24″ wide: 0.25″ in 8 feet (38mm < 610mm: 6mm in 2.5m)
Camber is measured by placing an 8 foot (2.5 meter) straight edge against the concave edge of the strip)
Flatness
Standard flatness is .020 PIW or critical flatness of .010″ PIW (refer to sales for flatness options per material/thickness/width)
