Ulbrich Stainless Steels & Special Metals, Inc. was recently recognized by Junior Achievement of Southwest New England at its 39th Annual Business Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on March 5, 2019 at The Woodwinds in Branford, Connecticut.

Lauded for its continued support of Junior Achievement initiatives and decades-long commitment to community service, Ulbrich was the recipient of the JA Corporate Award.

Junior Achievement, with 109 'JA Areas' across the United States, is the nation’s largest organization dedicated to preparing young people for economic success. JA’s core content programs include work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy.

For years, Ulbrich employees have participated in Junior Achievement programs, most notably ‘JA in a Day’ events. After a completed training session, volunteers visit local K-12 schools and deliver lessons based on the core content.

Chairman & CEO Chris Ulbrich accepted the award on behalf of the company.

“This award is a very special honor,” said Ulbrich. “All of us contribute to make our communities stronger, which is what tonight is all about. Thank you to all for making this possible and Junior Achievement for helping to educate our future leaders.”

Now in its 95th year of operation, Ulbrich has a proud tradition of supporting local organizations including the Ulbrich Boys & Girls Club (Wallingford, Connecticut), Wallingford Family YMCA, Columbus House (formerly the Wallingford Emergency Shelter), United Way of Meriden & Wallingford, North Haven Education Association and many more.
